Inspired by artisan keycap makers on Geekhack, Tinymakesthings explores how methods used to make jewelry, keychains, and other items with polymer clay can be applied to keycap making. She proceeds to post her experiments using sculpey polymer clay on top PBT keycaps, and then bakes the caps in the oven, foregoing the mold making and casting route. Tiny progressively improves her technique and starts to take on custom commission work. In 2017, she creates her first cast sculpt, the Yeti, based on an earlier clay Yeti creation. In 2018, she would collaborate with Retrochick on a very successful Keymo artisan. She was one of the first artisan makers to employee a Patreon subscription model. Through her accessible creations and work as a streamer, Tiny would reach an increasingly broader and mainstream audience, be featured in mainstream magazines, and now has a massive following on TikTok, Twitch, and Instagram.
