Jelly Key is a Vietnamese brand that was created by Trần Mạnh Hùng in late 2015 to make artisan keycaps. This was the keycap product line of Joiha/Joinhandmade, which also specialized in custom headphones, the first of which was called “Jelly Ear”. Jelly Key started selling keycaps in March 2016 on Geekhack and Facebook, and eventually launched a web site to sell their work, usually through a group buy model. They also did some GB sales on Massdrop.

Jelly Key initially focused on blanks, dabbled in a few sculpts, and now makes fairly intricate mixed media artisans, usually combining 3D sculpting, resin casting, hand carved encapsulated elements, painting, and other techniques and materials. While not considered to be pure resin cast artisans, they built a very popular brand that introduced many casual hobbyists to artisans with accessible, appealing designs that continue to do well today.
