Bludgeoned Kaps is an example of a maker who started out organically and with total grassroots support, before achieving critical and commercial success. Novice was introduced to the hobby in 2017 through a collector friend, and attended a meetup later that year, which prompted him to start experimenting with sculpting and casting. He released his first Dante prototype shortly thereafter, and has been creating unique and interesting artisans ever since. The subjects of Novice's work are typically fantastical humanoid or beastly facial sculpts, with attention to detail around organic skin features. Bludgeoned skirts that fine line between curious and creepy, evoking a visceral response in either direction, as great art often does.
